IV Therapy Standardized Procedures
Our standardized procedures ensure that a licensed physician is responsible for determining the formulation and ordering of all IV solutions. Nurses and staff strictly follow these physician orders and do not independently compound or alter any IV components.
Immediate use of compounded solutions is permitted only when failure to administer could cause loss of life or intense suffering, and compounding is limited to the immediate need only. According to the California State Board of Nursing, such immediate-use situations are extremely rare in an IV hydration or med‑spa setting. Patient-driven menu-style selection of IV solutions is prohibited.
